CIVIL SERVICES ORIENTATION PROGRAM AT S.P. COLLEGE, SRINAGAR - 12 JUNE 2010 AT 10AM

June 1, 2010 (New Delhi): On June 12, 2010 at 10 AM in Srinagar's S.P. College, ZFI will hold selection cycle for Civil Services coaching.

The prospective candidates will be addressed by Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood (ZFI President; link 1 , link 2), Mr. Mohammad Shafi Pandit (Former Chairperson, JNK Public Service Commission) and Mr. Shah Faesal (ZFI Fellow & 2010-All India IAS Topper; link).

HOW TO APPLY
Kashmiri post-graduate youths aged 21-25 years are invited to get themselves registered through on-line application form, as follows:

SELECTION PROCESS ON JUNE 20, 2010
The orientation program shall be followed by ZFI's Civil Services Selection process at S.P. College Srinagar on 20 June, 2010 at 9am.

Candidates have to appear (in English medium) for written test of 1 hr 15 minutes and interview as follows:

(A)    Written:

(i) Objective Test                                                                             (50 Marks)
Awareness about general issues – History/General Science/Social Studies
of matric level and newspaper based knowledge.      

(ii) Essay  - 150 words                                                                     (50 Marks)

(B)    Interview                                                                                  (50 Marks)

ZFI

WHAT IS ZFI FELLOWSHIP?
ZFI selects and sponsors the coaching of a limited number of 'ZFI Fellows,' (link) i.e. academically meritorious and financially deserving candidates with an interest in appearing for the highly competitive Civil Services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission of India (UPSC).

The Civil Services offer about 850 positions a year, out of a pool of 1,93,000 yearly candidates - i.e. 0.44% success rate.

Candidates are selected after an extensive application, test and interview process.

Candidates are encouraged to gain admission to premier coaching institutes of Delhi such as Vajiram, Synergy, Sri Ram, Ensemble, Interactions. Their fee is paid by ZFI directly to the institutes

TERMS OF ZFI FELLOWSHIP
Selected candidates shall be taken under the joint guidance and care of Zakat Foundation of India and Interfaith Coalition for Peace in order to help them properly prepare for the Preliminary, Main, and Interview for Personality Test for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2011 including their coaching in reputed Civil Service Coaching Centres of New Delhi. Economically weaker candidates may be considered for part sponsorship.

Note: Those who are finally selected will have to deposit the original marksheets plus certificates and degrees with ZFI.  These will be returnable after the final phase of Civil Services Exam. In Delhi, these selected candidates will have to live in the accommodation provided by ZFI. For boarding and catering, both to be provided by ZFI, each candidate will have to pay ZFI at the subsidized rate of Rs. 2000 per month. Before joining each candidate will have to deposit a bank draft of Rs. 5,000/- as a security, returnable not earlier than 31 May 2010. This will be in addition to filing of an affidavit with ZFI, as per prescribed contents. In case a candidate, after his/her selection, refuses to comply with any of these requirements, his/her security in form of bank draft shall be forfeited in addition any other fine/penalty leviable by ZFI none of which shall be questionable in any legal proceeding.
