October 10, 2008 (New Delhi): Zakat Foundation of India is grateful to Her Excellency, the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil for having donated to our Happy Home orphanage. In September 2008, Happy Home orphanage received the following gifts from Smt. Patil: 130 blankets and 130 sacks each of raw food items (rice, sugar, cooking oil). Also, for the third year in succession, His Excellency Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, has again made his annual gift to Happy Home. We are thankful to Dr.Kalam for his support of Indian Rupees 21,000 received in September 2008.
