ZAKAT FOUNDATION OF INDIA

On 26 July 2015 the following candidates have been selected for ZFI's Civil Services Fellowship for the year 2015-16 (Part III):

This list is in addition to the lists uploaded on 12 May and 14 June 2015. Thus, in all, 27 candidates have been selected as ZFI Fellows 2015-16.

These selected candidates (Part III) are required as follows:

a) To report to ZFI office at CISRS House, 14 Jangpura-B, Mathura Road, New Delhi 110014 on Monday, 10 August 2015 at 11.00 am to 3.00 pm.

b) To deposit all their original marksheets plus certificates and degrees with ZFI - from matriculation to post-graduation. These will be returnable on or after 31 July 2017. Please bring 2 passport size recent photographs and copy of the ID proof issued by the Government.

c) In Delhi, these ZFI Fellows will have to live in the accommodation provided by ZFI.

d) For accommodation, to be provided by ZFI, each ZFI Fellow will have to pay ZFI at the subsidized rate of Rs. 2,000/- per month. Full amount of Hostel charges for twenty months (Rs 40,000/-) will have to be deposited by bank draft payable in New Delhi in advance at the time of registration before joining the Hostel.

e) In the gentlemen’s hostel the kitchen is equipped with gas cylinder, fridge, cooking utensils and a cook. The daily cooking material is jointly and mutually funded by the ZFI Fellows.

f) Lady ZFI Fellows are provided food from their hostel against subsidized payment of Rs 3,000/- per month payable to ZFI for one year in advance.

g) Before joining, each candidate will have to deposit a bank draft of Rs. 25,000/- favoring ZAKAT FOUNDATION OF INDIA payable at New Delhi as security, returnable not earlier than 31 July 2017.

h) Financial Assistance for Coaching Taking into consideration the candidate's and his/her financial capacity, ZFI will sponsor the coaching fees to the maximum extent of ninety percent of the net amount payable by ZFI to any coaching institute. The balance amount will be deposited in advance (with the ZFI) by the ZFI Fellow. In case the ZFI agrees also to sponsor the Test Series, this percentage will come down to eighty.

i) This will be in addition to filling of an affidavit with ZFI, as per prescribed contents.

j) In case a candidate, after his/her selection, ever refuses to comply with any of these requirements or indulges in any other act of indiscipline his/her security in the form oft he above mentioned bank draft shall be forfeited in addition to any other fine/penalty leviable by ZFI - none of which shall be questionable in any legal proceeding.

k) These ZFI Fellows are required to select the coaching institutes as per their subject requirements and inform the details through email projects@zakatindia.org within one week. These candidates are taken under the joint guidance and care of Zakat Foundation of India, Interfaith Coalition for Peace and Fazlani Aishabai & Haji Abdul Latif Charitable Trust in order to help them properly prepare for the Preliminary, Mains, and Interview for Personality Test for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2016-17 including the sponsorship of their coaching in professional civil services institutes in Delhi.

l) Any alteration/addition in the rules shall be uploaded in the website in due course. These will be as much applicable as the rules written here.

m) The candidates who complete the above mentioned formalities would be presumed to agree with the ZFI Rules.

WHAT IS ZFI FELLOWSHIP?

ZFI selects and sponsors the coaching of a limited number of 'ZFI Fellows,' i.e. academically meritorious and financially deserving candidates with an interest in appearing for the highly competitive Civil Services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission of India.

The Civil Services offer about 1250 positions a year, out of a pool of 11,00,000 yearly candidates - i.e. 0.11% success rate.

WHAT HELP IS PROVIDED?

Candidates are selected after an extensive application, test and interview process.

Candidates gain admission to premier coaching institutes of Delhi such as Vajiram, Synergy, Sri Ram, Ensemble, Interactions. Their fee is paid by ZFI directly to the institutes. They are provided accommodation at ZFI's hostels.

Cost to support one ZFI Fellow for 1 competitive cycle is more than INR 1,50,000/- (or US $3000/-). This includes tuition, housing and personal expenses.
